Resolves/refers complex employee questions or problems related to any aspect of the Human Resource Department responsibilities. Participates and assists in investigations. Participates in aptitude testing, interviewing, and culling of candidates, including preparing notice letters for testing, interviews, and rejection. Posts notices of Job Opportunities for internal vacancies. Coordinates with Corporate Recruiting for newspaper advertising for open positions, arrangements for temporary employee help, and recruiting duties for all vacancies. Manages applicant flow within HRMS system for open job vacancies. Maintains and updates HR records, files, and HRMS system. Maintains and updates Seniority List, keeps records on accessions and terminations, and maintains and updates job descriptions. Prepares HR-related company reports, including weighted averages analyses and attendance percentages. Monitors and enters data for all hourly employees absence records. Coordinates complex pay issues with Payroll and acts as the backup for site payroll/time-keeper. Initiates, maintains, and updates a log on each employee out on long-term absences. Coordinates information with Corporate Leave & Disability Administration department and others as needed. Completes processing of all duties involved in employment, termination, transfer, and promotion of all hourly personnel. Assists lower level HR staff with all arrangements for company functions (Christmas party, picnic, after-work functions) within budgeted limits. Assists with special projects and functions of the department, such as open enrollment. Gives benefits plans overviews to interviewees. Numbers, prepares, and completes processing of all Personnel Activity Requests. Maintains files and processes paperwork for hourly progression increases. Assists injured employees with Workers Compensation-related issues. Assists with preparing responses to EEOC charges, Dialogue, and Grievances and Arbitrations. Assists Corporate HR with annual Affirmative Action Plan. Prepares and distributes Weekly Headcount and Hourly Employees Monthly Reports. Responds in writing to unemployment claims. Revises Organization Charts. Performs departmental clerical duties, such as preparing bulletins, e-mail notices, employment offers, decline letters, writing and proofreading newsletter articles etc. Participates in the training of lower level HR staff members and assists them with their daily duties as needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or GED required 5 years of professional-level Human Resources experience required Bachelors or higher level degree in Human Resources, Business, or related area preferred PHR certification preferred Experience with SAP preferred
