Human Resources Assistant: Simi Valley, CA

Budget $: 100,000 - 200,000

This position reports to the HR Representative and will spend about 75% of the time working on HR related activities and 25% of the time helping the IT department with administrative duties. These duties include, but are not limited to: scheduling meetings, setting up reminders, writing emails, reviewing documents and assisting with expense reports.
The HR duties include but are not limited to:
â?¢ Coordinating meetings and trainings.
â?¢ Assisting with employee events.
â?¢ Providing general administrative support for the HR department and staff members.
â?¢ Coordinating, accurately preparing and distributing ad hoc reports using HR databases, spreadsheets, surveys and other data sources.
â?¢ Tracking and following up on individual, department and division action items and tasks.
â?¢ Maintaining department and personnel file, and coordinating file audits.
â?¢ Complying with state and federal employment laws.
â?¢ Preparing and updating all HR packets (recruiting, offer, new hire, term, etc).
â?¢ Updating department forms and ensuring appropriate forms are posted.
â?¢ Performing general HR research (HR California, CLC, SHRM, etc) as needed.
â?¢ Assisting with employment related activities such as agency agreement maintenance, job postings, phone screens, reference checks, degree verification, interview scheduling, background checks and candidate and manager status reports.
â?¢ Assisting in data tracking and preparation of companyâ??s Affirmative Action Plan.
â?¢ Staying current on legal and government compliance issues.
â?¢ Will be exposed to company proprietary and company strategic information that must not be divulged.
â?¢ Sets an example for employees by making and demonstrating a personal commitment to L-3â??s operating philosophies.  Stresses the importance of integrating these operating concepts into daily activities.  Supports and implements the company Affirmative Action Plan.

Qualifications

Position requires at least two years of experience working in the Human Resources field. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. HRIS and ATS experience strongly preferred. Requires familiarity with HR concepts and practices. Certificate in HR Management desirable. Must have basic understanding of Human Resources functions. Must be able to handle routine issues related to Human Resources.
 
Must have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Must demonstrate tact, diplomacy and sound judgment. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize effectively. Must be successful in meeting deadlines and have strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
