• Client has an immediate need for a Global Network Engineering Manager to work as part of our Network team in our New Castle, DE or Long Beach, NY office. Position Summary The Network Managers primary role is to help design, implement, maintain and support solutions in an enterprise network to support the Planet Payment systems and applications.
• The Senior Network Manager will also provide direction and leadership to the network team. Specific Responsibilities Designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting local and remote portions of the enterprise network.
• Providing direction and leadership to the network teamDeveloping and recommending strategies for network growth, security, and other network enhancements by maximizing functionality of routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Creating and maintaining detailed project plans, scope of work, and other technical documentation of all moves, adds, and changes in regards to the wide-area network. Providing level 3 technical support for all LAN/WAN related operations and will participate in the ongoing support and maintenance of existing WAN and LAN infrastructure.
• Network performance tuning and monitoring.
• Conducting regular security assessments of the enterprise IT environment. Participating in design and strategy meetings for assigned IT projects for the enterprise.
• Evaluating existing communications systems, identifying deficiencies and making network performance recommendations.Installing and configuring communications equipment as needed. Performing after-hours maintenance as required will support the local-area network and data center operations.
• Required Skills/Experience Bachelor degree in MIS,
• Computer Science, Computer Engineering or comparable education and experience.
• 10+ years experience in an Enterprise IT environment with a specific knowledge of network security, firewalls, access and perimeter control, vulnerability management, intrusion detection and security monitoring.
• At least three years experience in a leadership/management positionHands-on experience with data networks including physical layer infrastructure, servers, LAN/WAN hardware, software, data transmission facilities and interconnecting devices
• Experience managing and implementing VoIP solutions within no less than 500 IP or VoIP sets. Experience with Cisco IOS configuration and administration.Circuit activation's, troubleshooting, and provisioning methods. Capacity planning and trend analysis.
• Cisco 26, 3628, 38 72 series routers as well as Nexus series;Nexus switches and VLAN implementations. Fortinet Firewalls; F5 load balancer's, IDS, VoIP, and Wireless Access Points.
• Cisco certifications are a plus.Network General Sniffer,
• MRTG, and SNORT Proven knowledge and practical application of network security, firewall, access and perimeter control, vulnerability management, intrusion detection and security monitoring. TCP/IP Protocol suite. IP routing protocols. Frame-Relay, IPSEC VPN, and xDSL Technologies. OSI Model and Layered Trouble shooting. QoS, bandwidth management and event correlation.
• Enterprise Network Management and SNMP. Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision Ability to organize workload for effective implementation Strong customer and results orientation Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity Ability to function as an effective team member Desired Skills/Experience Credit card processing knowledge Strong crisis management skills - able to direct work and remain calm in stressful situations Work Environment Fast-paced, and holds a high level of responsibility to ensure timelines are met accordingly.
