Global Master Data Consultant 


 


 


PURPOSE OF THE JOB:


 


The Global Master Data Consultant will be responsible for working with managing data stewards, stakeholder operational data stewards, and stakeholder IT analysts to map, transform, and migrate legacy data into the Clients solution.  This position will be responsible for coordinating and driving aspects of the data conversion and will be expected to gain valuable functional experience within a specific area of focus.


 


CORE JOB TASKs::


Data Conversion



  • Design, document, develop, and test data discovery tools, import programs, and export programs for a specific data area (i.e. SCM), providing accurate estimates of effort and clearly identifying scope changes over time.

  • Design, document, develop, and test data conversion programs/routines , providing accurate estimates of effort and clearly identifying and tracking scope changes over time.

  • Develop and document data conversion procedures, in partnership with key data stewards and stakeholders, driving clarity and compliance with established standards.

  • Support the data discovery process with the stakeholders, including overall guidance, auditing and reporting of data quality, driving timelines, problem resolution, etc.

  • Execute data conversion procedures on behalf of process teams and integration teams during practice conversions and cutovers, obtaining all approvals, documenting all results, and managing all errors to complete resolution.

  • Set strategy for IMO Data team related to data discovery, data mapping, and wave schedules.


 


Project Management



  • Coordinate all aspects of the data conversion process for a specific portfolio of data conversions

  • Be highly accountable for estimating effort to perform tasks and delivering in accordance with estimates.


 


Business Analysis



  • Monitor data conversion process for definitional accuracy of data being converted.

  • Participate in cutover planning sessions to determine business strategies to enable data conversion processes to happen while minimizing impact on business.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Educational Requirements:  B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Client/server programming experience - helpful

  • Database knowledge (Access, Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL) - helpful

  • Data conversion experience - helpful

  • ABAP/4 - helpful

  • Web development experience - helpful
