As Director, HR Operations and Advisory Services, you will be accountable for a wide portfolio that has a high impact throughout the organization.

You will be responsible for activities that include:

  • Leads and manages a team of professionals to ensure HR services are effectively meeting the needs of the organization.
  • Collaborates with FNHA leadership to achieve business objectives and add value to the day-to-day operations.
  • Using relative HR metrics identifies, analyzes and reports on trends â?? based on information takes actions as required to strategically support the business.
  • Acts as a key leader on matters regarding labour relations across the organization by providing leadership, mentorship, and direction to FNHA managers and other HR professionals in labour relations matters, including administering Collective Agreements.
  • Leads staff grievance and arbitration processes as required.
  • Provides strategic and tactical collective bargaining and labour relations advice to the VP HR and the CEO.
  • Participates in the collective bargaining process, and manages the implementation of effective labour relations strategies.
  • Collaborates with FNHA leadership to assess the short/long-term workforce requirements of the organization and support the business to identify high potential individuals, as well as implement career development plans to enable employees to increase their skill levels.
  • Provides leadership, direction and general management of HR Operations and Advisory Services team with responsibility for all areas of human resources including recruitment, wellness, learning & development planning, coaching, performance evaluation, discipline, etc.
  • Develops and monitors HR budget, goals and action plans.
  • Establishes standards, practices and a framework of policies, procedures, practices and methods for all reporting areas to support and optimize a streamlined, integrated and consistent service delivery model.
  • As requested, acts on behalf of the VP HR during his/her absences.
  • Represents FNHA interests on and to external committees and organizations.

Education & Experience

  • As a leader with a proven track record in transactional and operational HR functions in complex environments, your experiences and education have prepared you for this opportunity to be a key contributor. Specifics include:
  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) preferred.
  • 7-10 years Human Resources experience.
  • Experience building, creating and coaching effective customer-focused organizations.
  • Ability to build, inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  • Experience operating in a multi-site operation, spread across diverse geographical locations.
  • Proven ability to design and implement creative processes and solutions, including change management, talent development and related areas.
  • Proven, creative problem solver with both breadth and depth of experience across the HR function.
  • Labour Relations, including collective bargaining an asset.
