HR Payroll Administrator Location: Waukegan, IL

Position Responsibilities

All duties as assigned and the following specific activities.

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of all payroll cycles for over 500 hundred employees in multi-state jurisdiction.
  • Reviews cycle activity for accuracy of changes and time reported for payment, including proper approval.
  • Ensures all deductions or special transactions are timely and accurate; oversees and manages all time off programs and activity.
  • Responsible for coordinating information exchanges among HR department roles so as to properly process every pay cycle, ensure information accuracy, and information capture in proper databases (payroll, HRIS, time keeping).
  • Prepares reports specific to payroll and labor management activity; or as requested, and includes commentary about findings so as to aid in decisions or understanding of trends.
  • Specifically responsible for data in the payroll software and time keeping software for all users.
  • Communicates and complies with all payroll rules and laws including notices, court instructions, or other actionable tasks.
  • Responsible for audit activity and coordination.
  • Maintains employee record files physical and electronic, timely, accurately, and in compliance with laws: federal/state/local regulations.
  • Responsible to be current on payroll best practices, compliance, and law; may need to attend seminars or training.
  • Manages personal time so as to meet pay cycle activity.

  • On-going outcome that is measurable (minimum of 3)
  • Payroll is processed on time and without error, consistently.
  • Record keeping is accurate and reportable on demand.
  • Exceptional service level provided to all.
