Location:Reston, VA

  • SummaryAs a Software Engineer II (ERP) this resource will provide technical expertise and provide input on direction in developing and supporting system-level solutions/programs, interfacing with customers on requirements.
  • Participates in all phases of the development cycle, and provides input shares responsibility for on architecture, design and data structures, and access mechanisms as well as the development projects with the Corporate Systems team.
  • Responsible for reporting, program development system administration, testing and implementing complex solutions according to business needs.
  • Also responsible for system documentation according to established IT standards.
  • ResponsibilitiesDesigning and developing enterprise data analysis and reporting solutions with a variety of reporting tools and methods including Crystal Reports.
  • 5 years of experience in software systems development and programming, 3 years-experience in enterprise resource planning (ERP) system reporting, data mart, data warehousingExcellent problem solving skills.
  • Work with the business users and provide expertise in problem definition, requirements analysis and the general design of the solutions/for ERP Lawson systemDocument functional and technical requirements for the metadata layer and the ERP Lawson reportsDefine and build the metadata layer based on the business requirementsDevelop new and maintain existing ERP Lawson Financial and HR reports, dashboards, and other application functionality.
  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling techniquesExposure to Multi-dimensional OLAP TechnologiesReviewing and analyzing data from multiple internal and external sourcesExperience with a variety of sources (Oracle, SQL Server, XML, flat file, Excel Spreadsheet, SAP etc.)
  • Communicate analysis results and making recommendations to senior managementDevelops increasing expertise in key business intelligence development and related implementation technologiesAssist the testing team and facilitate the user acceptance testingAssist in maintaining all system administration, development and support documentation, including current product level release notesAssists with the planning, implementing and testing of all system patches and upgradesQualificationsBachelors Degree in computer science or related subject, plus additional related college courses or professional training, and four to six years of progressively responsible directly-related experience.
  • Current experience in Lawson ERP financial and HR reporting is preferred.
  • Additional Requirements3 years of experience in report development, Data Warehouse/Mart, and EPR Lawson environments2 years of demonstrated experience with Lawson or other mid level or top tear ERP application, with preference given for Lawson Administration and Development experienceStrong knowledge of Crystal Reports and a mid-level to top-tier Financial ERP system, with preference given for Lawson experience.Microsoft IIS 7 or higher using web-based pages written in ASP/ASP.NET, HTML, XML, VBScript, and JavaScript a plusProficiency with RDBMS systems, SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, UNIX shell scripting, and database optimizationsUnderstanding of modern software engineering principles, practices, and systems development methodologies, preferably Rational Unified Process (RUP)Familiar with database analysis, design, and programming with an understanding of related technologies specifically Java, XML, and web servicesExcellent design skills, hands-on experience in developing business intelligence reports.
