  • The HRIS Analyst II partners with Payroll, Finance and/or HR leadership to analyze and document functional requirements, work process design and flow, improve processes and leverage the return on technological capabilities.
  • The HRIS Analyst II builds project plans, ensures adherence to project schedules, maintains a systems orientation and can work effectively with peers to set technology priorities and conduct long-term planning.
  • This position also serves as a technical point-of-contact for assigned functional/business areas and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities.
  • The HRIS Analyst II also supports system enhancements, upgrades, patches, testing and other technical projects as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs system maintenance, which may include the following tasks: gather and document functional business requirements, assist in the review, testing and implementation of all system enhancements, upgrades or patches. Collaborates with functional and technical staff to coordinate application of upgrade or fix. Maintains system tables. Documents process and results.

  • Provides production support including, but not limited to, researching and resolving system problems, unexpected results or process flaws; performs scheduled activities; recommends solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.

  • Manages projects/process improvement, including the following tasks: apply change management experience to facilitate movement to new levels of quality. Identifies and understand issues, problems and opportunities.

  • Compares data from different sources to draw conclusions. Uses effective approaches for choosing a course of action or develops appropriate solutions.

  • Takes action that is consistent with available facts, constraints and probable consequences. Uses this data to build project plans and ensure adherence to schedule and other specifications.

  • Utilizes interpersonal skills when working with various customers and peers to accomplish project goals.

  • Recommends process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/or major variations from established policy, which must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation.

  • Understands and uses qualitative/quantitative measurement and data collection design principles.

  • Conducts training, including developing user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Trains clients and/or team on new processes/functionality. Trains new system users.

  • Maintains awareness of current trends with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies. Examines trends in information systems training, materials and techniques. Participates in user group meetings/conferences.

  • Provide insight to 3rd party payroll vendors to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance in North America, where necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorâ??s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, MIS, computer science or related field or equivalent work experience. CPP certification a plus.

  • 5+ years of experience in HRIS/payroll systems, which includes ADP Payroll, ADP Enterprise HR Applications (core HR, benefits, compensation and payroll), PeopleSoft and/or Sum Total.

  • 5+ years of experience in system integration experience is a plus. System integration experience includes ADP, PeopleSoft and/or Sum Total.

  • 3+ years of experience in Ceridian Payroll or Lawson Core HR Is a plus.

  • Advanced MS Access and Excel skills.

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes and data required.

  • Working knowledge experience of SQL and/or PL/SQL preferred. Experience in developing complex SQRs, PL/SQL, SQL and materialized views is a plus.

  • Understanding of HRIS database design, structure, functions and processes, and experience with database tools preferred.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to work with large amounts of data; facts, figures, and number crunching; interpret data, detect trends and analyze it to draw conclusions and recommend solutions.

  • Communication Skills: Ability to document and communication functional/technical business requirements. Ability to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas.

  • Critical Thinking: Ability to look at the numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on the findings.

  • Attention to Detail: Data is precise. Vigilance in analysis of data to come to correct conclusions is a must.

  • Math Skills: estimate numerical data.
