  • Job Summary Under general supervision, plans at an operational level designing and developing databases interfacing with appropriate customers, management and technical resources.
  • Facilitates and/or participates in the design, development, and implementation of large, complex database systems supporting one or more business and/or technology areas.
  • Develops, manages and implements appropriate solutions that may involve multiple platforms, databases, software/hardware, technologies and tools. Strong ability to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities.
  • May direct project staff in the development and implementation of database systems in support of business requirements. This job may manage or lead others.
  • Manage and coordinate IMS and DB2 for z/OS databases in multiple environments; responsible for database backup and recovery, performance and security; manage database builds and configuration for Line of Business (LOB) projects; assist in managing internal and customer projects and provide on-call support.
  • Experience of IMS Tools/Utilities (IBM/BMC tool set). Proficiency in using TSO commands and editor, JCL, PROCs and IOF. Knowledge and understanding the use of Plans/Packages/Collections.
  • Knowledge of RACF as it relates to IMS. Strong troubleshooting and problem determination skills. 3 to 5 years Host DBA experience preferred. Strong Mainframe technical foundation, strong skills with Microsoft products such as (Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint), strong work ethic, foundational soft skills, strong communication and growth potential.
  • Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities Evaluates systems specifications regarding customer requirements, transforming business specifications into cost-effective, technically correct database solutions.
  • Prioritizes work and manages projects within established budget objectives and customer priorities.
  • Responsible for establishing and managing to quality control and security protocols relative to database security Provides the division, department and business area management with timely and accurate information regarding the status and performance of the assigned project(s).
  • Advocates the use of database technology to develop and/or redesign business applications. Builds, leverages, and maintains effective alliances across technical and business community.
  • Facilitates interactions with customers to achieve efficient, effective results with respect to database development and enhancement. Multi-tasks and prioritizes in accordance with business priorities and production availability requirements. Supports one or more business units.
  • Responsibilities are assigned in accordance with business client priorities. Results are reviewed with next level manager for clarification and direction before proceeding. This job may manage or lead others.
