Qualifications Demonstrated technical experience implementing mainframe based applications that operate key business processes â?¢ Broad knowledge of technical architecture, design patterns, industry accepted best practices, databases, data warehouses, proactive monitoring of key services â?¢ Ability to work independently with limited guidance to understand the end goal and seek assistance from other peers or IT/business groups to understand the â??whyâ? of business needs to then buildout a scalable solution â?¢ Strong ability to solve complex technical problems through methodical thinking, planning and resolution of issues faced by the team by working through obstacles, ability to influence and build consensus across technical teams â?¢ Ability to monitor progress of the delivery team members to align with agreed upon deadlines â?¢ Ability to be a strong and effective communicator who is comfortable discussing complex problems across both technical and non-technical audiences â?¢ The ideal candidate is a person who is not afraid to speak up creating awareness of risks/issues and own them to closure â?¢ Bachelorâ??s degree, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline or 8 years relevant work experience as an equivalent â?¢ Five years of related technical experience, with increasing responsibility â?¢ Experience with core mainframe technologies including COBOL, Assembler, VSAM, DB2, JCL, MQ series, job scheduling services ex â?¢ Mulesoft, relational databases (Oracle) and data warehouses, DevOps, containers, CI/CD, system monitoring services, cloud migrations, etc Responsibilities â?¢ Solution Architect to design solutions based on business requirements, under limited technical direction â?¢ Solutions will range across a wide and diverse set of applications â?¢ This position will lead technical resources to the successful delivery of solution goals across applications and technologies and provide guidance and feasibility analysis for project delivery teams â?¢ This is your opportunity work within significant limits and authority on assignments requiring moderate to high technical complexity and coordination ((i.e â?¢ This position leads projects and has accountability for ongoing activities and objectives and may manage parts of enterprise-wide projects â?¢ Providing deep technical knowledge, end to end technical oversight from design through owning the implementation of the solution including, but not limited to, integrations with internal and external systems/services, APIs and databases â?¢ Primary focus will be on supporting existing mainframe systems â?¢ There will additionally be opportunities to support architecture in integration and cloud efforts â?¢ Consultation with Principal and Enterprise Architects to discuss pros/cons of each solution option and design solutions across a wide and diverse set of applications, that meet business requirements â?¢ Providing high level sizing estimates for complex and sometimes incomplete requirements, defining performance testing strategy, conduct ongoing design reviews and driving resolution of roadblocks faced by the team â?¢ Develops architecture, technical artifacts needed while assuming full accountability of the implementation solution required by the RUN team once the solution is in production â?¢ Hands-on architecture and engineering activities, such as implementing prototypes, proofs of concept, evaluate new technologies, when applicable
