Role: Database Administrator
Location: Cincinnati, OH
Responsibilities:
  • Work with the application development team to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Document database environments, standards, policies and procedures Monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning and maintenance of mission critical enterprise database systems
  • Configuration and maintenance of third party software packages for scheduling, alerting, reporting and monitoring Plan and implement upgrades, as required Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues
  • Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements
  • Design and implement redundant systems, policies and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data Allocate, monitor and optimize physical data storage for database systems Provide input to project planning and status reporting
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of departmental processes, procedures and standards by recognizing opportunities for improvement and initiating action to develop and implement changes
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 3 plus years of hands on experience supporting and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server version 2008 or higher Experience managing SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS is a plus Experience with SQL replication and high availability
  • Experience managing indexes
  • Experience with database backups, restores and recovery models Knowledge or exposure to NoSQL technologies such as Couch base, Cassandra, Mongo db is a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2014 and Windows Server 2008/2012Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills with highly developed organizational skills
  • Excellent understanding of analysis, design and system development tools and techniques (Software Development Life Cycle)
  • Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting database servers
  • Excellent understanding of application fail over and load balancing technologies
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to absorb large amounts of technical knowledge Strong listening, communication and time management skills
  • Bachelors degree in related field or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Certification in SQL 2008 MCITP and/or MCSE SQL/Server Infrastructure
  • Demonstrates our core competencies of customer focus, integrity, initiative, innovation, collaboration and results orientation
  • Must legally be able to work in the United States
