Location: Skokie, IL

SUMMARY

  • The Quality Data Engineer is responsible for overseeing the quality data functions for.
  • This includes but not limited to developing systems and procedures for Customer Complaints, Corrective Actions, Test Plans, Scrap, Audits, FAI, PPAP packages etc.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality metrics
  • Develop necessary databases and spreadsheets for various quality systems such as Corrective Actions, Test Plans, Scrap, Audits, FAI, PPAP packages etc.
  • Provide training and technical support for all Quality solutions that are developed or purchased
  • Represent the quality department when IT is developing solutions that support the quality functions
  • Work with outside software providers to identify solutions for the Quality organization needs
  • Knowledge of JDE (or similar platforms) to provide Quality Data and reports
  • Lead metric reviews and drive continuous improvement with data
  • Interact with the Quality Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, and Global Compliance to understand their software and data needs.
  • Performs analysis on Quality processes and leads the implementation of quality tools that improve product quality
  • Assist in the analysis of customer complaints

Job Requirements

  • B.S Degree in Engineering or other relevant technical bachelor??s degree.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data engineer using quality tools such as FMEA, Gage R&R, 8D??s
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to work cross functionally
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and structures
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise solutions such as JDE
  • Self-starter with the ability to direct the activities in the Quality Data area.
  • Ability to work with large scope and multiple projects
