Responsibilities

Project management.

  • In collaboration with the WD Program Leader, PMO team and implementation leaders, work with the workstream leaders to project manage workstream deliverables in accordance with overall program timelines.
  • Partner with workstream leaders to develop workstream/project plans that are aligned with the overall program, define deliverables and milestones, and track workstream progress within the framework of the overall program.
  • Application of Workday PMO tools, methodology and governance is required, as well as provision of guidance to workstream leaders on how to best utilize the PM framework in the context of the program.
  • In collaboration with the workstream leaders, identify and capture RAID items and escalate in timely manner, in accordance with the governance and escalation process.
  • Manage and monitor RAID items for the workstream to ensure cross-workstream risks, dependencies and issues are quickly identified, and ensure mitigation plans are defined as required.
  • Provide timely and accurate workstream status reporting for various stakeholders in formats that are fit for purpose according to the target audience.
  • Ensure team members within the PMO team, as well as the broader leadership team and change management team, are fully apprised with key developments, risks and issues.
  • Demonstrate strong presentation and power point skills and the ability to develop executive-ready presentations and share with the WD program leadership for input and discussion also with core team members.
  • Work independently but know when to escalate to WD PMO Leader/ implementation leaders. (e.g., the Workday Program Senior Associate will be called upon to develop PowerPoint presentations related to their workstream or program, coordinate inputs from various team members and reconcile the information into a concise and relevant executive-ready deliverable)
  • Actively contribute to PMO activities such as development or refinement of PMO tools, processes, and drive continuous improvement within the PMO team by adapting tools so they are fit for purpose for the program, taking into account the agile nature of system development.
  • Help coach workstream team members around the pragmatic but correct use of relevant tools designed to help with assessing program status and reporting for senior stakeholders.
  • Actively contribute to the PMO administrative support work required to support the program including meeting coordination and meeting notes.
  • Participate and support all organization work required for PM-driven events such as roadshows, workshops and design sessions, from end-to-end event logistics, administration and preparation of materials for participants.
  • Change managementPartner with workstream leaders and change management team to coordinate on change management themes and issues as they arise within the workstream, to ensure that all change management activities, including those that are operational in nature, are considered holistically from a program and stakeholder perspective.
  • Ensure relevant connections are made between the workstreams, the PMO team and the change management team so that synergies are identified and leveraged, and potential duplication is limited if not avoided.
Qualifications

Education

  • BA/BS ; with MA or MBA preferred
Experience

  • 5-7 years of HR global project management experience, demonstrating consulting and directing increasingly more complex projects
Knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of best practice HR organizational models, processes and operations.
  • Must possess excellent analytical capabilities, oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to deliver high quality work, be detail oriented with advanced time management and organizational skills.
  • Candidate should possess a strong work ethic, be proactive and have the ability to succeed in an environment of ambiguity due to organizational change.
  • Candidate needs to be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Travel may be required.Proficiency in office and project management tools (e.g. MS Office suite of tools).
  • Candidate must possess strong influence and negotiation skills to work with internal stakeholders, with minimal supervision, at all levels to support change management and communications activities and tasks.
  • Candidate will be required to work with confidential data and manage the information in a professional and confidential manner.
