Description:
- Business Analyst / Cognos BI developer that can support reporting and analytics within a large Data Warehouse environment. Our environments are broken out at about 65% Oracle, and 20% SQL, and 15% Netezza.
- Domain Analysis experience using SQL or PL/SQL (Must have strong SQL, PL/SQL Skills)Prior experience as a report programmer/ETL Analyst Specialist in support of large-scale data warehouse and reporting projects (2TB and above)Business Requirements gathering and Analysis experience, as well as documentationMapping experience to support ETL within a large Data Warehouse environmentCreation / Execution / and Documentation of Test Plans for Transformation ProcessesStrong experience in creating and published packages in Framework Manager from various data sources.
- Prefer experience using multiple databases and tools and using leading or bleeding edge technologies.
- Familiarity with a broad range of database and Business Intelligence environments using IBM Cognos in Oracle, Netezza and SQL Server databases.
- Working / hands-on knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts, including various forms of modeling (dimensional and relational) and warehousing strategies.
- Well-versed in developing reporting applications using Cognos Business Intelligence components like Report Studio, Framework Manager, and Workspace Advanced. Must have minimum of 3-5 years developing with Cognos with a heavy concentration of experience in Cognos Framework Manager.
- Good Communication Skills are a must in this position as well as some minor PM skills as in some cases they will be the main contact for any process they are working onStrong experience in client interaction and understanding business application, business data flow and data relations from them.
- Working with the development team on Process Flows for ETL processingFamiliarity with Implementation Plans and DocumentationExperience in documenting processes of this nature, in order to write Turnover Documentation to support this on our Production Support TeamTools & Resources highly desired: Embarcadero Rapid SQLQuest ToadCognos BI Suite (Framework Manager, Report Studio, Workspace Advanced)Microsoft Suite (MS Word, Excel, Project, Visio, Power Point, Outlook and Access)
