Cognos Developer Schaumburg, IL Long Term contract Job Responsibilities: â?¢ Architect, design and develop Cognos reports (cubes, dashboards, reports, drill-through, etc) according to user requirements. â?¢ Design and develop any data transformation processes for reports that require aggregations or any activity requiring background processing. â?¢ Complete assigned project deliverables within business / audit control requirements. â?¢ Perform unit, system and integration testing and provide UAT/Production support as needed. â?¢ Train and support Cognos end users. â?¢ Adhere to security and control policies throughout design, development and testing. â?¢ Identify, troubleshoot and resolve reporting issues and code defects. â?¢ Understand and execute release management and change management processes for changes to reporting applications. â?¢ Provide off hours support as required. Technical Skills Required: â?¢ A strong architectural background with Databases and Reporting. â?¢ 5+ experience with Cognos 8.4/10 such as Framework Manager, Cube Development, Report Studio and Analysis Studio â?¢ Experience in SAS is a plus. â?¢ 5+ experience with databases specifically Oracle and writing sql. â?¢ Strong background with Data Warehouse and Data Marts. â?¢ Experience with ETL like Informatica, SSIS, etc is a plus â?¢ Experience with scripting languages like VBScript, Unix, perl, etc. â?¢ Knowledge of BI/Data Warehouse concepts, including star schema â?¢ Experience with formal software development processes and methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, RUP, SCRUM, or MSF
