- RequirementsThe primary function of this role is report and modeling development as well as production support for the Cognos analytic and reporting systems, includingMajor ResponsibilitiesTechnical dashboard design and developmentTechnical report design and developmentTechnical design and development of framework manager models/packagesDevelop technical documentation for reporting requirementsInvestigate and resolve performance issues with queries/reports.
- Production support, including maintenance to existing reports, as well as troubleshooting and resolving issuesRequired Skills / KnowledgeExpertise in the IBM Cognos Analytics product SuiteStrong analytical skills; solid interpersonal, oral and written communication skillsMust be highly organized and work quickly; easily handle and adapt to numerous and shifting prioritiesDesire to learn and apply best-practice techniques in business intelligence developmentAbility to successfully engage in multiple projects simultaneously Proven ability to be self-directed and task orientedWork collaboratively with report and ETL developers, DBA, and subject matter expertsLooks for ways to improve and promote quality, demonstrate accuracy and thoroughnessWillingness and strong desire to learn and expand technical skills whether through business or personal meansStrong SQL skills, including performance analysisExperience Needed3+ years of progressively responsible experience with development of Business Intelligence dashboard design, development and deployment, using the Cognos Product Suite3+ years of relevant experience in a Data Warehouse/Data Analytics EnvironmentUse of Cognos 10 advanced features - Active Reports, Dynamic Cubes and Cube Designer, Dynamic Query Mode, Workspace Advanced, is requiredBachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical field, preferredKnowledge of data warehousing, data presentation, documentation, metadata, drill-downs, and cubes, requiredDevelops intermediate to complex level reporting under limited supervisionHas database experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, SQL queries, stored procedures, for interfacing with the database and database designsExcellent analytical, organization, problem-solving, communication and customer service skills, requiredEducational Background RequiredBachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Sciences or other related field or equivalent work experience
