TITLE: Cognos & Informatica Administrator
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform backup and upgrades and troubleshooting by understanding the various log messages
- Create and maintain installation documentation and architectural diagrams
- Report package deployments
- Design and build prototype solutions based on initial business requirements
- Implement interactive dashboards to help drive business decisions
- Under general direction, devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results
- Interface with different departments within the organization regarding new deployments
- Research/analyze data processing functions, methods and procedures
- Monitor program execution for expected performance
- Modifies, installs, and prepares technical documentation for system software applications
- Monitors systems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster recovery procedures
- Provide L2/L3 support for Cognos and Informatica
- Identify, escalate and document production impact issues for the environment to confirmed delivery for client and business notification

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- IBM Certified Administrator or IBM Certified Solution Expert preferred
- Data modeling experience is preferred
- Knowledge in Administration of Cognos Business Intelligence Suite
- Knowledge in Administration of Informatica
- Maintain upgrades, patches for Cognos and Informatica
- Knowledge in Upgrading Cognos and Informatica to newer versions
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- 5+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence role, including data warehousing and business intelligence tools, techniques and technology, as well as experience in diving deep on data analysis or technical issues to come up with effective solutions
- Experience in data mining (SQL, ETL, data warehouse, etc.) and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Proven ability at looking at solutions in unconventional ways
