Job description
Summary
  • The Search Engine Optimization(SEO) Specialist analyzes, reviews and implements changes to websites, internal and external, so they are optimized for search engines.
  • This means maximizing the traffic with desirable intent to a site by improving page rank within search engine results.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
  • Test and implement search engine optimization techniques, such as redirect maintenance, web site linking architecture, and intentionally designed unique content for landing pages targeting specific demand for the buyer journey leading to key performance indicator gains.
  • Provide guidance for natural white hat practice by identifying optimization opportunities with back links.
  • Support structure of Browse-driven Navigation and Site Search results in accord with SEO strategy.
  • Keep current robots.txt and XML Sitemaps for websites in accord with SEO strategy.
  • Analyze websites for improvements, have an in-depth knowledge of keyword research, understand SEO copywriting and serve a liaison between various departments.
  • Regularly document and update processes and protocols internally that ensure all content is optimized across all platforms and user experiences (websites, apps, mobile, social, video, store location pages, etc.)Liaison both offsite and onsite activities; including promotions, products, services, or other factors for local relevance.
  • Stay active in SEO tools monitoring updates or changes enforced or announced by Search Engines, browsers and devices.
  • Non-Essential FunctionsComplete other duties as assigned.
  • Key Results Expected From This PositionSEO provides a critical channel of exposure for Gander Mountain to new customers, so exposing the data connection between conversions made by real customers and their search engine origin will be a key metric sought.
Qualifications
Education/Years of Experience:
  • A degree and a minimum of one to three years of web experience is required for the SEO Specialist position, including knowledge of HTML, CSS, programming language and blogging.
Other Qualifications
  • Must be a problem solver and decision maker, with the ability to prioritize and develop relevant and engaging content.
  • Experience with Conductor Searchlight, Adobe Analytics, and Screaming Frog a plus.
