Data Modeler/ETL Developer Loc: Walnut Creek,CA Purpose of Role Designs, develops, and optimizes data warehouse with flexible and scalable data and ETL architecture to support business users and business intelligence applications. Leads the data collection method, infrastructure design, data profiling, data cleansing, and normalization of enterprise data to support decision making, reporting and analytics, and external vendor data extracts. Serves as the architecht, programmer and business analyst to support advanced and complex reporting and data requirements of the assigned end users, relying on established policies and procedures. Designs, develops, and implements complex level databases in support of business intelligence projects. Essential Job Functions Determines business information needs and identifies system requirements. Plans and defines data architectural standards for data marts and enterprise data warehousing Responsible for creating the Entity Relationship Diagrams, Star Schemas and Dimensional Models. Independently designs and develops complex SQL queries, stored procedures, tables, views and ETL packages in support of large management reporting requirements. Extracts, transforms and loads (ETL) data into staging, data marts, and warehouse from multiple disparate systems for both relational and dimensional data structures. Leads in the data collection method, data cleansing, and normalization of enterprise data to support decision making, reporting and analytics, and external vendor data extracts. Creates, configures, optimizes and troubleshoots SQL programming. In addition, works closely with DBAs to optimize data model, code, and indexing. Ensures data integrity by analyzing, testing, validating and certifying data system tables that are consistent with business requirements and technical specification documents. Provides training and mentoring to other ITS staff on basic database systems and software development.
