Role: Data Scientist Location: Cambridge,MA If you love Hadoop, MapReduce and databases and are interested in applying your skills to building a big data solution for entertainment. The Ideal Candidate Would Have: BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Science or equivalent work experience 5+ years of experience Java development Proficiency with both SQL and NoSQL databases, various data warehousing and analytical architectures Demonstrated success in a performance-critical environment Experience with distributed systems and Hadoop clusters is a plus Experience with Amazon web services: EC2, S3, and EMR (Elastic Map Reduce) or equivalent cloud computing approaches is a plus Proven experience taking a concept and building a fielded, maintainable product Extensive experience in engineering design and agile process A collaborative work style and the ability to function well in small teams with a minimum of oversight Demonstrated ability to apply principles of logic to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems Commitment to producing top quality, well designed and flexible software
