  • Develops, implements, and manages the formal governance of the SharePoint implementation.
  • This includes creation and enforcement of governance standards and processes in accordance with guidelines and corporate needs.
  • Establishes and leads corporate SharePoint governance team.
  • Ensures all data is classified by the business units and that the solution is designed accordingly including when to archive or dispose of data.
  • Maintains security for SharePoint services and applications in accordance with guidelines.
  • Performs assessment and implementation of new capabilities.
  • Strategically aligns the platform to match a??s business needs.

Manages SharePoint permissions.

  • Solicits requirements for new features, functions, and workflows and leads development of those items.
  • Creates, modifies, and deletes collections, sites, users, groups, document libraries, and My Sites in SharePoint.
  • Creating sites, templates, workflows, lists and libraries to support enterprise initiatives.
  • Follows and promotes IT Service Management processes such as: configuration management, change management, and project management standards and tools to support customer activities.
  • Provides continuing support for the SharePoint site and associated applications.
  • Researches and recommends technology solutions appropriate to meeting corporate goals and needs.
  • Provides technical guidance to solve problems and recommend future courses of action.
  • Collects content from different business units within the company to ensure SharePoint is being used to its highest potential.
  • Plans, designs, configures, tests and implements SharePoint solutions.
  • Creates training materials for users of all experience levels.
  • Works with groups throughout the organization to ensure that each business unit is using the service efficiently.

Tracks SharePoint storage usage.

  • Monitors site collections to ensure that sites are not close to exceeding boundaries, thresholds and supported limits.
  • Responsible for the management and configuration of the service applications such as Search, User Profile Service, and Managed Metadata Service etc.
  • Uses auditing feature to track how the data in SharePoint online is being used via the compliance center.
  • For example, tracks number of active users to ensure licenses are optimized, checks sites sharing, etc.
  • Researches and recommends 3rd party applications to help meet business needs.
  • Creates and maintains purge/record retention compliance.
