Sr. SAP Business Intelligence Solutions Architect - Camden, NJ

Principal Accountabilities:
1. Solution Architect - 60%
* Lead and create the global Business Intelligence technology strategy leveraging SAP Business Warehouse, Business Objects (BO Enterprise; OLAP Universes; Web Intelligence; Dashboards( Xcelsius); Live Office; Explorer; Crystal Reports; Mobile; Voyager; Integration Kits; Data Federator; Data Services; Metadata Management) and drive senior alignment for execution support.
* Lead the definition, design and development of the SAP enterprise systems information architecture and associated business warehouse information model to enable cross functional operational reporting and corporate performance optimization.
* Identify Business Intelligence enterprise-wide program strategic opportunities and drive cross-business and cross-functional change of the Global BI program globally to increase business value and create competitive advantage.
* Identify, create and influence an advanced BI business analytics agenda to increase SAP benefits realization and process optimization.
* Own overall responsibility for the BW backend data architecture for SAP and non-SAP data sources.
* Own overall responsibility and oversight of Global SAP Business Objects architecture and work with applicable infrastructure teams to build and maintain environments.
* Assist in development and delivery of BI training program and drive increased user adoption.
* Define, implement, and monitor operational measures for improving BI program quality, throughput, and solution delivery and architecture/infrastructure effectiveness.
* Ensure a global, secure, scalable and extendable BI platform that is high performing and optimized for large data volumes.
* Develop BW/BO standards, processes, and procedures for consistent execution and administration.
* Maintain Development and Transport Procedures throughout Architecture Reviews and approvals in order to guarantee that Best Practices are always maintained.
2. SAPBI/BW Lead - 40%
* Translate complex Functional Specifications into detail Technical Designs and Technical Specifications.
* Model and build SAP BO metadata and architecture.
* Load data warehouse systems from different source systems (such as ECC) and flat files or tables using standard extraction tools.
* Manage BI content and support through upcoming upgrades and patching.
* Be familiar with techniques and technology for managing very large database/data warehouses including Hana, BIA, indexes, statistics, compression, partitioning and data deletion to all applicable BI objects.
* Design and build BI reports & queries using all applicable SAP BO tools.
* Design and build Extraction, Transformations, and Loading (ETL) through SAP BO Data Services for both SAP and non SAP data.
* Provide input, guidance and recommendations on Technical Designs developed by other team members.
* Develop creative solutions for complex requirements, including use of Flexible and Configurable products.
* Act as a technical consultant for the SAP team and internal business teams; Serves as an expert (SME: Subject Matter Expert) in technical field of knowledge.
* Develop unit, integration, and performance test plans. Regression plans should also be develop for cross reference developments.
* Act as a technical lead in the design, development, testing and implementation of technology solution.
* Establish performance baselines; Monitor system performance and tune for peak performance.
* Review and provides input into user acceptance test plans as appropriate.
* Develop support documentation for any modified or develop SAP components.
* Develop project plans and timelines for complex work requests.
* Research issues leveraging SAP Notes and SDN (SAP Development Network).
* Engage the BASIS team to establish the appropriate security model for any new enhancements or changes, expert with the implemented SAP security mode.
* Research and implement new technologies to increase productivity and performance.
* Drive issue resolution associated with the implementation and testing of SAP BW/BOE upgrades and service pack enhancements.
* Train other technical associates on SAP BI/BW technologies. Assist in cross training others to ensure coverage and shared departmental knowledge.
* Participate and provides input on the hiring and selection process. Contribute to the development of peers.
* Proactively share new learning’s with others in order to improve organizational efficiencies. Offer technical expertise, feedback or advice as a valuable resource to others.
* Support the on-boarding and training of BO Power Users. This includes providing technical training of key BO toolsets.
* Establish and follow standard SAP BO development processes.
* Establish and follow standard SAP BO transport and promotion processes.
* Create and manage execution of development timelines on-time and on-budget.
* Manage onshore and/or offshore development resources.


Job Specifications:

* Minimum education required: Bachleors degree
* Education desired: Masters degree
* Years of relevant experience: 10+ years of experience in IT and Business work experience
* Language requirement: Fluent in English

* Technical competencies:
o At least 3 years of managing multiple, medium to large-sized projects or cross-functional project teams.
o 5-7 years of experience in Business Objects business intelligence systems design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and support.
o Experience with Business Objects in the supply chain management area in Food/Drinks or CPG industry is preferred.
o Experience with Business Objects based development over a SAP BW environment (SAP is primary data source) and non-SAP environments.
o Thorough understanding of Business Objects product suite including – BO Enterprise; OLAP Universes; Web Intelligence; Dashboards(Xcelsius); Live Office; Explorer; Crystal Reports; Mobile; Voyager; Integration Kits; Data Federator; Data Services; Metadata Management.
o Thorough understanding of Business Objects based design and development processes including – universe design and development, reports/dashboard design and development, and business intelligence reporting strategies.
o Familiar with leveraging SAP BW Accelerator.
o Knowledge of establishing SAP BO design and development processes, including – metadata development, creation of universes, data modeling, ETL data integration, data quality, performance, data integration from SAP and non-SAP sources.
o Strong BI and data warehouse conceptual thinking.
o Ability to quickly learn and understand critical data/information needs in the business.
o Experience in advanced analytics is preferred, e.g. corporate performance management, executive dashboards, scorecards, alerts, subscription push reporting, predictive analysis, etc.
o Ability to conduct technical data validation between reports/dashboards, data warehouse, and source system(s).
o Some knowledge of Oracle / SQL is preferred.
o Basic project management methodologies and their application is preferred.
o Familiar with/working knowledge of other BI tools such as MicroStrategy and Cognos.
o Familiar with/working knowledge of data warehouse appliance technologies such as Teradata and Neteeza.
o Familiar with/working knowledge of demand signal repository strategies.
o Familiar working with Partners in on site off-shore delivery model.
