The
Sr. Financial Systems Analyst confirms the business\' needs and documents
existing business processes, workflows, system processes, and dataflows in
order to identify, recommend, and document the appropriate new business and
systems requirements to address those needs. Once approved, the Sr.
Financial Systems Analyst works closely with their Application Development
team and Testing Services by supporting the technical system design, systems
testing, integration testing, quality assurance testing and user acceptance
testing to implement the agreed upon solution.
Responsibilities
include:
Production
Support:
- Perform and review recurring tasks and user support
on timely basis
- Provide end user support for technical problems or
application questions
- Perform system audits for data integrity and security
- Develop and document system administration policies
and procedures
- Coordinate with IS&T for resolution of
application and infrastructure issues for support and user requests
- Work with software vendor/developer for upgrades,
enhancements, fixes, and troubleshooting
- Track and resolve user support issues with current
systems
- Maintain strong working relationships with project team
members, internal finance customers, and external service vendors
- Provide end-user system training as needed
Requirements
Analysis:
- Works with project teams to understand and clarify
business requirements
- Understands system design, application data models
and entity relationships and contributes to finalizing the business
requirements
- Develop business and system process flows
Solution
Design:
- Analyzes, designs, integrates, and implements
solutions across multiple applications in a domain, to include work
processes, modifications, interfaces, and reports
- Consults with users to streamline complex work
processes
- Designs interfaces, features, and new technologies
- Advises on technical solutions for business requirements
to maximize
Implementation:
- Coordinates implementation of changes to existing
applications
- Documents configuration and participates in code
reviews and walkthroughs
- Prepares system test plans, test cases and scripts
for a medium-large sized systems
- Performs system and regression testing and helps with
triage and clarification of issues uncovered in user acceptance testing
for the application development team
- Coordinate and communicate with users, Systems
Administration, IS&T, and contractors in multiple time zones to
implement, enhance, or create new or revised systems
Qualifications
Ideal
candidates will have:
- 5+ years of experience in PeopleSoft Financials
version 8.9 or higher, specialized in General Ledger required; exposure
to other modules including Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Treasury or
Project Costing a plus
- Strong Business analysis skills around finance and/or
information technology projects
- Strong Consultative and Advisory Skills
- Experience identifying, writing, and prioritizing
business requirements
- Intermediate level understanding of Finance and
Accounting practices preferred
- Financial services, Securities or accounting industry
experience preferred
- Hands-on accounting experience, preferably in
corporate accounting with experience in financial close and regulatory
filing
- Basic experience utilizing MS Office (e.g., Word,
PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Visio & Project)
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in
writing and to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties
including Company management and outside business associates
- Attention to details
- Ability to interact with all level of management
including senior management on a regular basis
- Ability to work independently or with minimal
supervision
- Analytical, problem solving and decision making
skills
- Knowledge of functional business systems and/or call
center functionalities preferred.
- Familiarity with a system development lifecycle
methodology
