Job Description

Position Purpose:

  • Analyze, design, enhance, trouble shoot both processes and systems to ensure effective completion of business tasks and achievement of goals.

Essential Job Functions:

  • The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Optimize business processes to eliminate redundancy and enhance speed to market.
  • Design, maintain and lead training for all users of systems under purview.
  • Act as owner of all functional aspects of administering the business system and optimization of processes through collaboration and partnerships with the business, IT architects and the IT support team.
  • Represent their systems and business partners in the broader context of organizational systems and process design in order to achieve optimized performance and reduction of workload across other domains and the organization as a whole.
  • Lead requirements gathering, issue resolution, technical triage, project execution for all projects or problems encountered.
  • Represent the business and applications in development of IT/Business Roadmap, including bug fixes, patches and upgrades.
  • Ensure appropriate generation of requirements and business case in support of achieving the businesses goals and objectives.
  • Lead upgrade or system implementation projects for spend up to $2M per year.
  • Formulates and defines business systems scope and objectives by bringing technical knowledge of the IT systems and processes to new projects within the business
  • Responsible for managing all functional components of assigned application(s)
  • Responsible for working closely with Architect and onshore/offshore tower leads to ensure systems are meeting their required performance SLAs
  • Responsible for managing system issue resolution representing the business to IT and IT to the business
  • Responsible for playing a lead role in the implementation of new systems and upgrades, patches and/or work associated with modifications to existing systems. This includes capturing business requirements, input data requirements, output requirements, input data acquisition, data governance, systems techniques, controls and testing
  • Partner with Enterprise Architects and domain architects to make sure all systems map to Petcos enterprise domain architecture
  • Partner internally with cross-functional teams, and externally with vendors and consultants.
  • Prioritize with the business team the business needs using finite available resources in order to develop solutions that are consistent with the technology strategy and generate financial benefit
  • Make recommendations relative to system enhancements and business process best practices.
  • Responsible for the day to day support of the applications including: seasonal set up, configuration changes (if applicable), maintenance of role-based security levels, support with report processing and creation and communication and resolution relating to systems.
  • Schedule and conduct training for new hires in their area, or training related to upgrades, as needed.

Education/Experience:

  • College education and 6+ years of experience directly related to the supported business area with an aptitude for both application systems and operational business process development.
  • A background and experience in vertical or retail environment is preferred.
  • Must have functional understanding of business processes and detailed knowledge of systems applications.
  • Experience collaborating cross functionally to implement new systems and tools is preferred.
  • Must demonstrate keen problem solving skills, ability to deal with moderately complex situations and recommend a course of action/solution in addition to analyzing and interpreting data to arrive at IT/business solutions.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to influence and negotiate at various levels of management, as well as cross-functionally.
  • Must have data query and report writing capabilities.
