Sr Cassandra Engineer
- 3+ years Software Development, especially object modeling, data modeling and architecture
- 3+ years solid Cassandra Development and Support experience in managing mission critical multi-cluster environment
- 3+ years no SQL data management and architectureMust have intimate and demonstrable experience with Cassandra at both the client and cluster layer
- Strong understanding of complex inner workings of Cassandra, such as the gossip protocol, hinted hand offs, read repairs
- Manages, expands and develops platform interaction with Cassandra including data modeling and metrics productionDesigns and builds database side data structures and models.
- Review and recommend best practice data model review optimized for CassandraInstalls, configures, patches and maintains multiple cluster environmentWorks closely with application development teams to design, implement and support databases to support applications.
- Participates in design reviews as required to ensure database design meets application requirements.
- Designs, maintains, documents and executes database utilities and monitoring to provide information regarding database activity and state.
- Proactively performs database monitoring and performance tuning tasks.
- Identify and provide innovative solutions to performance issues in multiple database environments.
- Provides automation to standard dba tasks.
- Able to develop scripts on *nix platforms as necessary.
- Offers support, knowledge and guidance to senior development team on Cassa
