ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Effectively communicate with project management, creative, marketing, and business groups to interpret and execute designs and requirements into effective technical solutions Perform development work on our websites with the Drupal content
- introducing modern functionality, extending existing functionality, and maintaining the existing code base Work with project managers to establish deadlines for development team, assigning responsibilities to team members and monitoring their progress,
- summarizing progress when needed Handle escalations,
- perform root case analysis, and implement remediation processes Mentor and lead the web development team members,
- Ensuring they are able to meet deadlines, coaching them on their daily progress, participate in code reviews and other process activities Document your development work, both in the code and in internal documentation Act as a resource and partner to peers in Marketing and across the university
- Bachelors degree required. Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
- Proficient in Drupal development Advanced PHP, Apache, and MySQL experience Experience coordinating and leading a development team Thorough knowledge and experience with modern and responsive website best practices Thorough knowledge of MVC and object oriented programming Experience in programming in standards-compliant HTML/HTML5, CSS/ CSS3, SASS/LESS and JavaScript/ jQuery, and an understanding of the progressive enhancement philosophy of web development.
- Experience with a version control system such as GIT Experience and thorough understanding of cross-browser compatible code and graceful degradation Familiar with browser testing and debugging Expertise in performance optimization best practices and tools Experience working closely with other developers and following team-agreed procedures is essential Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, identify their causes, and explain these to others Strong communication skills are essential, and technical writing skills are valued Experience with the careful implementation of security and data protection Driven to learn and teach new technologies while on the job Exceptional interpersonal, collaborative and creative problem solving skills Uncompromising attention to detail Resourceful problem solver Experience in Agile methodologies is a plus
