Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of UNIX engineers in all aspects of service and performance deliveryStay current with IT trends, making recommendations for operational efficiencyProvide an interface between business and technology partnersActive participant in strategic planning process defining technical strategy for UNIX platforms or across the whole of Global SystemsActive participant in projects supporting divisional objectivesMaintain relationships with internal and external technology partnersOptimize IT service design, delivery, and support in partnership with other IT and business leadersLead planning, development, implementation, and performance of infrastructure initiativesEffective and collaborative mediation of competing priorities and workDevelop, deploy, and maintain infrastructure support tools across IT environments Establish and maintain uniform standards, processes, and tools (where appropriate) across all UNIX platforms globally Provides technical supervision and direction to assigned resourcesDevelop KPI measuring effectiveness as a support organizationImprove upon efficient use of existing logical and physical assets Drive process and system improvements Staff development through coaching, mentoring and fostering an environment of innovationAsset tracking and managementDevelop scripting/programming to improve operational efficiency.
  • Review, recommend, and execute modification to systems improving efficiency and reliabilityReview, recommend, and apply system patches in accordance with best practiceIdentify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues Develop and maintain system and application documentationQualifications:Must HaveMinimum eight (8) years IT experience, ideally within a global organizationMinimum five (5) years Linux deployment, configuration, and support experience Minimum three (3) years of team management or supervisory experience with at least three (3) direct reportsMust have prior technical team leadership experienceMust understand error handling and exception processing for verification of job completion status, and be able to interact with all support groups in debugging and problem resolutionsFamiliar with Open Source tools, and comfortable with enhancing them Basic network connectivity and hardware trouble shooting skills and understanding of standard file/data transfer protocols Strong experience with Perl and shell scripting Basic understanding of VMware ESXi, VMware vCenter, VMware PowerCLI, and PowerShellAdvanced understanding of DNS and BIND 9 Ideally Have Knowledge of Centrify products (Direct Control and Direct Audit) Experience with PCI requirements and controls Strong desire for experience with automation/configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet Personal AttributesGood manager and leader, able to build trust and respect of team members Ability to build or gain consensus across teams Good listener, able to remain calm and poised in a fast-paced environment Demonstrate a smart approach to workingEnthusiastic attitudeHighly developed problem-solving skills Friendly and professional approach to colleagues and customers Ability to make decisions and escalate as needed in critical or business-impacting situations
