Role: Hadoop Software Engineer, Big Data Location:Durham,NCWork across technology teams to understand and define system and technical requirements for EDW and Big DataWork and transition seamlessly between relational, data warehouse and big data platformsLead a team in the design/development of data ingestion and data transformation for EDW and big data applicationsLead the development of data pipelines using Hadoop, NoSQL, In-Memory and Distributed search platformsPrimary point of contact for development team to the project manager, lead systems analyst and QA leadDesign and deliver complex architectures for customersParticipates in requirements gathering and scope estimation meetingsResponsible for Technical Systems Design (TSD) document delivery and reviewing all project artifacts including requirements (SRA) and functional specifications (SDS)Manage development for content pipeline and processing systems for real-time and predictive analyticsCapable of advanced performance tuning of hadoop jobs (hive, pig, map reduce, etc.)Rapidly prototype and validate big data applicationsMentor software engineers in code design and optimizationPerform on-call support responsibilities with rotational schedule
