Primary
Responsibilities: The Systems Administrator will be responsible for resolving
support problems and issues related to end-user and enterprise applications. A
successful candidate will support server and application infrastructure design
and implementation efforts. This position will be responsible for: General
Linux system administration, security patching, OS upgrades, troubleshooting
problems, and ensuring maximum availability. Writing system scripts for daily
administration, and has ability to document system infrastructure. Install new
software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve
software and hardware related problems. Perform system backups and recovery.
Must understand the major network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, FTP,
NFS, SMTP, SNMP. Candidates will be responsible for resolving technical support
problems and issues related to supported applications. Must have the ability to
diagnose and identify application related problems and effectively communicate
solutions to both technical peers and end-users. The candidate is expected to
participate in project-based technology deployments. In addition, the candidate
must enhance overall team accomplishments and competence by adhering to project
timelines and tracking Service Desk incident resolution through IT Service
Management tracking system. Desired Skills and Experience Basic Qualifications:
The successful candidate should possess a BA/BS in Information Technology,
Information Systems, or Computer Science plus 0-2 years of directly related
experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to
effectively participate in a team environment. Willingness to work
independently, accept challenges, and learn new technologies is a must. Will provide
24x7 support via on-call rotation schedule. Some travel may be required
(<%). Preferred Qualifications: Possess working knowledge of Apache,
Tomcat, NetApp, VMWare VSphere, Networker, and/or similar enterprise tools is
preferred.
