Materials Management Process Lead

This is a full time position within Supply Chain Excellence and serves as a key interface between Bendix’ operational functions and IT. The position supports both Supply Chain and Purchasing teams by leading key, strategic, continuous improvement (CI) projects with a focus on leveraging SAP. This position is tasked with driving process improvement and process standardization in the areas of material procurement, supplier communication, production planning, inventory management, MRP planning and lean replenishment processes. Additionally, this role includes the support of SAP MM and PP users with technical knowledge as needed, as well as driving SAP improvements via various methods (including training, testing, investigating new functionality, defining requirements, etc.).

Essential Functions:

Lead or participate in procurement and materials management related projects as needed to support business initiatives
Collaborate with IT, CoC managers, plants, business owners and key users to identify new CI opportunities and execute agreed upon projects within supply chain.
Support key user network by training, trouble-shooting issues and recommending permanent corrective actions.
Proactively seek and recommend appropriate solutions and options to stay current with technology and industry changes.

Required Knowledge

Advanced knowledge of Materials Management, Production Planning, Purchasing Processes, Inventory Optimization and replenishment strategies.
Advanced knowledge of ERP systems and associated materials & production planning modules.
Knowledge of supplier communication tools
Working knowledge of BW report writing and/or SAP Advanced Planning & Optimization (APO) Systems a plus
Automotive or trucking industry knowledge preferred
Knowledgeable about Order-to-Delivery related processes



Required Experience

Minimum of 7 years of continuous improvement / project management experience required
Minimum of 5 years of functional operations experience with focus on materials management, production planning or purchasing required
Proven track record of success required
Minimum of 5 years of ERP experience required, SAP R/3 4.7 or higher preferred
Involvement in ERP implementations preferred
Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification preferred
