Senior Benefits Analyst LOC : Vienna, VA

Budget $: 100,000 - 200,000

  • Under general direction, the Senior Benefits Analyst will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Companys health, welfare, and retirement savings programs including the coordination of external vendors, application of internal benefit programs and processes, communications with employee, and ongoing plan administration.
  • Serving as a point of contact with internal stakeholders, vendors and consultants on matters such as plan design, contracts, and audits.
  • Providing high level of service by ensuring any issues are resolved timely, accurately, and efficiently including complex issues.
  • Managing funding and cash payments to health and welfare vendors, with particular focus on the tracking and monitoring of the company's self-funded plans, in close conjunction with Finance.
  • Collecting data to monitor participation, utilization rates, and trends on a regular basis for health and welfare plans. Identify problem areas in service delivery processes, troubleshoot issues, and recommend solutions.
  • Coordinating the design, development, and review of employee communications and marketing materials regarding health benefits, including development of benefits training, summary plan descriptions, and plan documents, to assist geographically-dispersed employee workforce and their dependents\' understand and value their benefits programs/services.
  • Coordinating the annual enrollment processes, utilizing internal and external resources.
  • Staying current on emerging and new legislation to provide recommendations to Benefits Manager on potential changes necessary for compliance.
  • Ensuring all plan filings and audits are performed to maintain plan qualification and governmental compliance of including but not limited to Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), HIPAA, DOL, and Internal Revenue Code.
  • Coordinating with third-party vendors and consultants to ensure quality and efficiency of delivery of our benefit programs.
  • Assisting in the implementation of new benefit programs, as required.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve the benefits experience for employees.
  • Responding to auditor inquiries as necessary.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree with a focus on Human Resources or related disciplines preferred.
  • PHR or SPHR certification a plus.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience.
  • Must have direct experience working with HRIS systems.
  • Prior experience with Ceridian preferred.
  • Must have experience working with self-funded insurance plans.
  • Extensive knowledge of benefit program design and implementation methods.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws relating to benefits (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA).Ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Must be flexible and able to switch between job tasks quickly while supporting multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, and the ability to deal with employees at all levels.
