POSITION PURPOSE:
Designs and develops websites and user interfaces for web-based applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Leads design research and creation of critical work products, including: personas, product vision and strategy.
  • Creates insightful information architecture and application flow diagrams based on design research.
  • Creates user experiences and interaction designs necessary to meet the needs of both the users and business.
  • Translates wireframes into production-ready, high-fidelity mockups. Creates prototypes based on the mockups.
  • Presents and defends design decisions with business clients.
  • Reviews user stories. Participates in planning sessions. Identifies tasks related to HTML authoring and/or front-end development. Estimates effort for front-end development.
  • Converts visual designs (Photoshop) to web pages and associated assets (HTML, CSS, images, JavaScript, etc.). Creates/maintains pattern libraries for pages and modules.
  • Creates/updates ASP.NET markup to reflect the HTML authored for new and updated pages and modules. Collaborate with other developers on tasks related to back-end integration.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability necessary to perform this job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in information systems or a computer related degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 5 years of related experience.
  • Expert knowledge in production-level HTML, CSS, and SASS.
  • Very Strong knowledge of JavaScript and JQuery.
  • Experience in at least one dynamic server-side language.
  • Ability to write high-performance, reusable code for UI components.
  • Familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols and web server optimization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) principles
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Understand and practice web standards
  • Ability to work on multiple projects is essential
  • Must posses a strong creative and design sense with the ability to work efficiently within a team.
  • Clear communications directly with business clients is crucial.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects in varying stages of development under time pressure and deadlines
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Masters degree in Computer Studies or related degree.
