Role:Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting Location:Middleton, WI PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the preparation and drafting of external SEC filings, including 10-K and 10-Q financial statements, such as preparing footnotes, supporting schedules, and ensuring accuracy. Prepare and maintain accounting disclosures and related spreadsheets and reports. Assist the external auditors during annual audits and quarterly reviews. Prepare consolidated analytics for audit review. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of key accounting including, but not limited to, goodwill and indefinite lived impairment analysis, stock compensation, restructuring and pension accounting, earnings per share calculations, cash flows, and accounting for significant transactions (i.e. acquisitions/divestitures). Research and document in the technical interpretation of complex accounting issues and new accounting pronouncements related to the Company. Gather support and analysis from accounting professionals throughout the organization. Ensure compliance SOA requirements with Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR). Collaborate with process owners to prepare and update SOA documentation and ensure documentation is property maintained and reflects the current policies and procedures of the Company. Assist in updating the corporate accounting policies and coordinate communication of policies across business segments. Model the Spectrum Brands eight Core Capability to achieve service excellence, meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PROFILE: Bachelorâ??s degree in accounting 5 years in the accounting or auditing profession CPA license preferred. Experience working with or in a publicly traded company is preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS: Working knowledge and understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOA. Strong analytical, organizational, decision making and administrative skills. High attention to detail. Professional oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate with senior level commercial and financial leaders. Excellent project management skills; ability to multi-task in a time sensitive environment. Collaborate with people at different levels within the organization to accomplish common goals.
