BI Architect primary responsibilities will be to designing and developing business intelligence solutions. The Architect serves as Business Intelligence expert, and develops and manages Business Intelligence products and solutions. The position requires a broad business perspective and a willingness to step into multiple roles. The role is primarily focused on developing business intelligence solutions leveraging the Microsoft technology platform (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Tabular, SharePoint, and Excel BI tools) and Informatica. The role needs to be able to work independently, and within excellent communication skills with experience of working effectively within a team and the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Key Responsibilities High level: Delivering and presenting BI proofs of concept to prospective customers BI requirements analysis and solution architecture design Data modelling and data architecture design Creating ETL, data integration and data migration designs Designing and implementing Master data management systems and processes Detail: Develop information architecture. Manage current and future needs in data design and content. Resolve semantic discrepancies in data definitions that arise among multiple sources and projects. Gain consensus among users on common business data definitions. Determine the optimal approach for obtaining data from diverse source system platforms and moving it to the BI. Implement the ETL infrastructure used at a project level. Establish and enforce technical standards for deliverables of projects. Coach project ETL specialists on data acquisition techniques, decision rules and how to apply them. Assess current technical architecture. Estimate system capacity to meet near- and long-term processing requirements. Define BI strategy/processes for: Operations Technical architecture Definition of technical architecture for BI environment Hardware requirements DBMS requirements Middleware requirements Network requirements Server configurations Client configurations Estimate costs for technical components. Develop ETL technical architecture. Evaluate and select ETL tool. Develop access/analysis tool technical architecture. Evaluate and select access/analysis tools. Interface with DBA staff. Basic Qualifications: Experience in participating in analysis sessions with the user community to capture, define data requirements clearly, completely and correctly Minimum of five years BI experience and a proven record of accomplishment of architecting enterprise level Business Intelligence solutions. Bachelor\'s Degree in Business, Technology or related area 2 years of experience using the following modules: ERP Financial including general ledger (GL), accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), fixed assets (FA) and core human resource expertise. 4 to 6 years working experience with Microsoft business intelligence tools and systems such as OLAP, data modeling, data warehousing Experience in participating in analysis sessions with the user community to capture, define data requirements clearly, completely and correctly 5+ years of experience architecting, developing and/or managing the implementation of Business Intelligence solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Excel utilizing experience with Microsoft OLAP or other enterprise level tools. Experience in identifying, analyzing and translating business requirements and rules into intuitive analytical solutions, business scorecards and management dashboards Understanding of Business Intelligence solutions: operational and analytical, strong knowledge of relational and multi-dimensional database architectures Expertise in the Microsoft BI solution offerings including SQL Server 2012/2008 R2 stack (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS), PowerView, PowerPivot, Decomposition Tree, SharePoint, Excel, PerformancePoint Server Understanding of multidimensional database design and architecture Experience and/or understanding of SQL Server Tabular Model Excellent data analysis skills using SQL. Strong analytical skills and an ability to present and communicate data, trends, insights and recommendations Ability to conduct quality control/auditing to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data during the project system, integration test and UAT Experience in delivering quality work on time with multiple, competing priorities Strong collaboration with Sharepoint architect. Experience in working well with others on the team to design and maintain a corporate data architecture, meet project milestones, manage client satisfaction and mentor others on the team
