Primary Responsibilities

• Preparation of DNA and RNA from various sources
  
• Preparation of sequencing-ready libraries for various applications
  
• Evaluation of library preparation methods
  
• Operation of next-generation sequencing instrumentation and primary data processing
  
• Analysis of next-generation sequencing data on Linux platforms
  
• Software tool development for internal projects
  
• Discussing potential projects with R&D members and advising best practices
  
• Participation in trainings, preparing protocols and SOPs per GLP guidelines
  
• Maintain notebooks and records commensurate with the design control requirements of the IVD industry
  
• Maintenance of equipment, ordering/tracking of reagents
  

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Bachelor\'s degree in a Biological/Bioengineering field with 0-2 years of experience
  
• Experience with NGS platform operation, library preparation and primary data analysis
  
• 1-3 years laboratory-related experience
  
• Experience with nucleic acid purification
  
• Experience in setting up and performing multiplex real-time PCR assays
  
• Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills
  
• Experience performing bioinformatics analysis on next-generation sequencing data
  
• Software development in key areas including use of Python, R, Java/C++ or related languages
  
• Knowledge of principles of quality control and quality assurance
  
• Knowledge of biological and chemical safety
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing GeneXpert assays
  
• Experience in a GLP environment
