BI Analyst Loc Austin, TX & Multiple across US Long Term or FT

As part of our continuing strategy to grow and transition to a data-driven organization, we are adding a BI Analyst to our team.  You will be creating automated dashboards, enhanced cloud data engineering solutions, and data governance applications across our businesses.  The BI Analyst will help drive the adoption of BI dashboards and curated data marts as a first and second resource for stakeholders with business questions. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

·        Creating and maintaining beautiful and insightful business dashboards for internal stakeholders.

·        Improving the lives of others by making data collection and insights as simple as opening a webpage.

·        Curation of cloud certified datasets based upon business requirements.

·        Architecting and maintaining ELT pipelines in a cloud environment.

·        Creation of ad hoc and curated SQL queries for personal or distributed business use through a data governance and cataloguing tool.

Requirements & Skills:

General:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, advanced degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience creating datasets and dashboards for stakeholders across multiple lines of business, preferably with some financial experience.
  • A well-rounded individual who is generally curious about data and doesn’t just take orders but is adept at drawing conclusions and recommending actions based upon the analysis they perform.
  • Someone with a creative drive who knows how to intelligently manipulate data and craft visually appealing and effective visualizations.
  • Experience presenting results up and down the organization, from entry-level to the CEO

Technical:

  • Expertise in SQL query development (T-SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Snowflake).
  • Expertise with at least one BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Sisense, etc).
  • Experience with a cloud data warehouse environment (Snowflake preferred).
  • One or more years of experience with Python, manipulating data with Pandas data frames.
  • Exposure to data governance principles, including data lineage and data cataloguing, bonus for working with a cloud data governance tool (Alation, data.world, Atlan, Castor, etc).
  • Understanding of statistical significance and familiar with principles such as principal component analysis and confidence intervals.
  • Deep knowledge of time intelligence and manipulation
