Summary of Position:
The Business Analyst serves as the conduit between the customer community, both internal and external customers, and the application development team through which requirements flow. The Business Analyst proactively communicates and collaborates with subject matter experts and the development team to establish the technical vision for a given request or project and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs. Once the technical vision has been established, the Business Analyst develops requirements specifications according to standard templates using natural language. To ensure the technical vision has been met, the Business Analyst works with the customer to create accurate and complete test plans and throughout the testing process identifies and documents application deficiencies and recommends solutions.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Effectively act as the liaison between customers and the application development team
Work independently with members of the user community to define and document development requirements
Work with product owners to understand and develop business cases and determine relative priorities
Use standard tools to effectively communicate requirements to the development team
Define test conditions and develop test plans to ensure customer needs are met
Create implementation and training plans
Assist in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules
Accurately prepare written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, professional, and engaging
Follow through with commitments and assume additional responsibilities without being asked
Skills Required:
Ability to elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis
Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
Ability to guide development projects successfully from inception to completion
Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group ranging from executives to line level employees
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
Experience and understanding of Oracle’s Flow Manufacturing
Thorough understanding of manufacturing in an ATO environment – Capacity Planning, Master Scheduling, Quality Control, Continuous Improvement, and Performance Measurement
Experience Required:
3 years Professional experience in the role of Business Analyst
Extensive experience as a Business Analyst providing technical solutions to support and improve the processes and reporting requirements of the Finance Department in a publicly held company
Extensive experience with Oracle EBS R12
Demonstrated knowledge of and competency using common Business Analysis techniques
A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements
Education/Licenses/Certification/Formal Training:
IIBA Certification (CCBA, CBAP)
APICS Certification (CPIM)
4-year college degree; technical discipline preferred
