IT Business Analyst II – Cost and Profitability

The Cost and Profitability team is seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to be part of our team.  The IT Business Analyst II will work in a team environment to recommend and deliver SAP costing based solutions to enable Global Supply Chain business processes.

POSITION OVERVIEW

 

The SAP Cost and Profitability team, as part of the Application Services organization, is responsible for designing, building, implementing and supporting enterprise wide SAP based costing solutions.  Supporting technology areas are SAP ABAP Development and Business Warehouse to support both custom functionality and enterprise wide reporting solutions in the areas of standard and actual product cost, production accounting, variance analysis, month-end close processes and product/customer profitability reporting.

The IT Business Analyst II will work in a collaborative environment, assisting with the design, development, delivery and support of the SAP Controlling module including custom programs, configuration, and reporting to meet internal and external customer needs. The Analyst will gain an understanding of business requirements and work as part of a team to deliver technology driven solutions. 

KEY ACCOUNTABLITIES

  • IT Analyst II Role: Design, Review, Develop, Test, Implement, and Support SAP IT applications: 
    • Under general direction, formulates and defines systems, scope and objectives based on both user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements.
    • Participates in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new and/or upgraded technology.
    • Analyzes and design user information flows and reporting needs.
    • Intermediate understanding of global system implications to issues and processes associated with the system.
    • Performs SAP system configuration, creates functional specifications for custom ABAP and BW work, performs unit and acceptance testing and provides production support troubleshooting.   
    • May translate customer’s high-level requirements into functional and/or technical specifications.  Educates IT organization on the general direction of the business.
    • Works cohesively with other Information Technology resources, business analysts, consultants and business representatives.
  • May act as a team leader on selected assignments to include: preparation of simple project plans, coordination of multiple resources, and reporting project status.
  • Can relate business and IT objectives to team or departmental activities. Competent to work on all phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. 
  • Evaluates alternative procedural and systematic solutions that meet business needs while maintaining enterprise standards.  Competent to work on all phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment. 
  • Participates as the Cost and Profitability representative for larger Supply Chain efforts to define, plan and complete deliverables within established work plan schedules.  Attends project/planning meetings and communicates regularly with team management and with project team members.
  • Limited understanding of global system implications to issues and processes associated with the system. 
  • May instruct, direct and check the work of business analysis personnel. Leads independently on selected assignments to include: preparation of medium to complex project plans, coordination of multiple resources and reporting project status.
  • Facilitates internal knowledge transfer to teammates.
  • Typically has 6 to 8 years of experience.

 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in either an Information Technology or Business related major.
  • Strong problem solving, verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Hands on SAP configuration experience in product costing, production accounting, product variance, material ledger and COPA.
  • Ability to work well in a virtual team environment with peers, business partners and end-users.
  • Self-directed and experienced with minimal management oversight.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical customers, peers, and team members.
  • Must be highly organized and able to juggle multiple customer, business partner, and business priorities.
  • Ability to negotiate with business representatives and resolve internal and external conflicts.
  • Ability to perform minor ABAP debugging and analysis.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-moving, high-pressure software development and deployment environment.
