  • Company is located on the beautiful California coast just south of Santa Barbara, where we do our development and manufacturing.
  • Company seeks a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Engineering Team and help meet the needs of our rapidly expanding markets.
  • You will join a team to design new products and advance the technology of devices capable of carrying and switching over 8 Megawatts of power in a product the size of an apple.
  • These electro-mechanical devices are a critical component of the Electric Vehicle, Solar/Wind Generation, Battery Power Storage, Fuel Cell, and defense markets.
  • Our customers include Tesla, Apple, Jaguar, Samsung, Oshkosh, Mercedes, Space-X, Lockheed, Zero Motorcycles, Solaris, and hundreds more.


Qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-10 years of mechanical engineering experience
  • Proficient in Solidworks or similar 3D Modeling
  • Experience introducing new products into a production environment
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under pressure and manage competing demands and deadlines .Well organized and detailed oriented


Responsibilities:

  • R&D for new products and product improvement- Product Development to meet challenging performance specifications, deadlines, and cost goals.
  • Solving technical problems, performance problems, and root cause analysis of product failures.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on problem solving, product improvement, and new process development


Preferred:

  • Experience with electro-mechanical actuators- Experience with design for manufacturability, assembly, and automation
  • Experience with FEA- Experience with injection molded plastic and stamped part design
  • Experience with mfg technologies, line balancing, Kaizen, Kanban systems
  • Experience with DFMEA, PPAP, ISO, TS quality systems
  • Proficient with mechanical and electrical measurement instruments
  • Experience with vacuum systems
