  • The Bio process Applications Specialist will become part of a fast-paced and exciting environment at the forefront of rapidly growing single-use and cell culture markets.
  • The individual will support company customers and the sales team as a technical expert on company single-use bench- and large-scale bioreactor and other cell culture technologies.
  • The person will be a key contact for technical requests from bio pharmaceutical customers and perform installation and training services, process optimization and technology transfer/scale-up, and general applications support.
  • This individual will work closely with company colleagues, including R&D, marketing, product management, sales and manufacturing engineering to ensure company technologies continue to serve the evolving needs of our customers in the bio process industry.
  • This position can be located at our Center of Excellence in West borough, MA or a remote position and requires approximately 50-60% travel.
  • Primary ResponsibilitiesSupport installation, training, troubleshooting, process development, technology transfer/scale-up, and documentation for company bioreactors at customer sites .
  • Drive customer adoption of company technologies by assuring customer preparedness for technology evaluation, providing follow up data analysis, process development consultation, and general troubleshooting servicesServe as a technical expert for cell culture processes and company single-use bench- and large-scale bioreactor systems internally and for life science companies.
  • Work in coordination with company sales force to respond to customer requests for applications support, system optimization and undertake presentations, demonstrations, testing and evaluations of company technologies, both at company and at customer sites.
  • Work in coordination with other cell culture experts in the company applications team to execute cell culture process development projects for customers using both company and generic technologies to meet customer process performance milestones.
  • Support and train customers during start-up of bioreactor systems.Assist product managers in the development of technical sales tools such as application notes, reports, publications and presentations.
  • Provide application and product training support to the sales and marketing team as required.


Skills And Knowledge :

  • Cell culture and bio process engineering expertise.Good organizational skills, ability to multitask, and develop expertise on many new technologiesStrong problem solving, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and be a self-starter to achieve defined goals.Flexibility to adapt travel schedule in response to evolving commercial priorities.
  • Ability to work well within a global, cross functional team.Discipline to abide by standardized work procedures and protocols.
  • Experience of working in a customer facing environment would be beneficial.
  • Experience with software for cell culture and process control would be beneficial.


Qualifications :

A minimum of a bachelors degree in a relevant biological science or engineering field.Experience of running and optimizing a wide variety of cell culture processes including large scale bioreactors.3 to 5 years of hands-on cell culture process development or other relevant experience in the pharmaceutical /bio pharmaceutical industry.

Prior experience compiling technical information into technical reports and presentationsExperience with single-use bioreactors, protein therapeutics and cell/gene therapy applications, downstream purification, and analytical techniques is also desired.
