Role:Senior Coordinator, Transportation,
Location: Ames, IA

Essential Functions:
  • Scheduling Exercise discretion in the scheduling,coordinating and processing of freight deliveries to customers and from vendors to plants and terminal locations to assure timely delivery of product at the most economical rate Coordinate modal transport and design process improvement as well as process diagrams relating to logistics are a operationally and organizationally to improve proficiency Oversee compliance with BQ 9000, feed stock requirements, and FSMA sanitary transportation Follow company credit policies as applicable to the shipment of products from REG and client plants Work with Team Leader to set up new transportation vendors in compliance with REG processes and procedures.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment to evaluate all possible transportation methods while determining how to transport specific sales/shipments to and from origin and destinations
  • Planning Track transfer and 3rdpartyshipments to terminals including title transfer based on Free on Board terms or finished product to customers, and inbound feed stock to REG facilities Assist with the setting up of export/import shipments by ship or barge Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status in sales force, plant operations, and all customers Analysis Conduct a general analysis of cost/sales/profit as requested based on professional knowledge/experience
  • Utilize analysis conclusion make re commendations to senior management on go/no-go terminal options Mentor ship Seek to provide help and guidance to peers and coordinators
  • Be prepared to be part of more cross functional group opportunities Other Frequent Duties Keep all transportation rates up to date in OTMMa intain a strong understanding of REG accounting procedures and financial conditions Negotiate/coordinate costs associated and post changes as needed Process freight bills for payment to accounts payable person Perform other duties as assigned

Education Required:
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:4 year bachelors degree
Supply Chain Management or related degree3-5 years of experience may substitute

Experience Required:
2+ years office experience with transportation logistics background. Master's degree may substitute some experience.
Key Skills:
