Job Description:
- They are planning to start by focusing on 7 disparate data sources.
- They wish to structure the data from these sources into their Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) to allow for optimized reporting (static, ad-hoc, OLAP, etc.), and dashboards in order to gain insights within the business and make actionable decisions based on data rather than gut feel.
- They want this resource to be able to integrate data from end to end (data source to the EDW to the GUI and everything in between) but would also like them to have a grasp on Analytics and Big Data strategy overall as well.
- There are aggressive timelines to complete Phases 1 & 2 of their Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) portion of their initiative.
- The plan is to leverage their MSFT tools per their ELA, and will use a combination of SQL Server on the backend along with Power BI as their GUI.
- They will likely use SSAS and SSIS as well.
- Client wants to start with 7 initial data sources
Phase I:
- Hyperion & Workday
- Looking for Phase I to be complete end of Q3 (September 30, 2017)
- Workday 50K records
- Hyperion do not know data size or records
Phase II:
- SAP integrated into EDW
- Other data sources:
- ERP System is largest # of records of data.
- Microsoft Shop: Trying to leverage this shop.
- SQL Server for EDW (SSIS, SSAS, in between)
