Senior Network Engineer Loc: Wisconsin Rapids, WI

Key Accountabilities

  • Establish, implement, and maintain the architecture and standards for networks environment, including lifecycle management, demand forecasting and management, contract management and procurement, and collaboration with the Strategy organization on IT infrastructure strategy and direction.
  • As part of the network support processes, identify and resolve issues that require deep troubleshooting into the hardware, operating system, network, and security processes.
  • Works independently to solve complex network/telecom support problems.
  • Selects methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Performs root cause analysis on network issues. Retests corrections to ensure problems are resolved.
  • Provide leadership and coordination in the creation of network configurations and regular security patching processes.
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing Support and Infrastructure Maintenance and Support organizations on the creation and execution of standard operating procedures.
  • Assume leadership of the code updating process, ensure schedule adherence of the deployment of patches, and conduct audits/patch review by location.
  • Establish and execute backup procedures for all network systems, including the recommendation on backup processes and establishment of standard backup procedures.
  • Provide tier 2 & 3 support in a 24/7/365 environment for the LAN and WAN environments, including on-call support for all major incidents, priority 1 and priority 2 issues.
  • Establish and maintain documentation on standard operating procedures for network monitoring, support, maintenance and patching.
  • Interface with manufacturing support and infrastructure support organizations to define and implement best-practices in support of the network environment within the manufacturing facilities.
  • Join the Network Team's on call rotation.
  • Senior members are expected to provide leadership and mentoring to team members.

  • Technical understanding of hardware and associated support tool knowledge.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor degree in a technical field or equivalent years of experience
  • 7+ years of Information Technology experience, i.e.,
  • Cisco networking and Palo Alto firewalls
