Chief Architect - Big Data Analytics Loc : Cupertino, CA

Budget $: 100,000 - 200,000

Partners with business stakeholders to ensure alignment of the IT data strategy and business data strategy, supports the technical needs of the business teams, communicates knowledge and use of data and analytical tools to drive insight into Aimia Canada lines of business to drive revenue, reduce cost and improve member and partner experience.

  • Responsible for researching and evaluating innovative technologies in the data management field to develop strategic, value-add solutions.
  • Develops strategic BI and data warehousing directions and aligns data warehousing and BI projects with Aimia Canada business strategy.
  • Oversees the departments budget in order to ensure optimal services while achieving financial objectives.
  • Participates in the Architecture Governance process and provide sign-off for data management and Business Intelligence area.
  • Assures effective, consistent and sustainable information processing operations
  • Manages teams effectively to ensure stability, availability, SLAs and quality of databases, data warehouses and data integration processes
  • Directs the security and safeguarding of corporate information resources in accordance with Aimias procedures, practices, and contractual and legal obligations.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to manage changing priorities and ambiguity
  • Provides strategic direction, coaches, develops, and mentors team members
  • Maintains direction and focus through proactive planning and organized approaches
  • Responsible for researching and evaluating innovative technologies in the data management field to develop strategic, value-add solutions
  • Oversees hiring, daily management, training, professional development and personal growth of data management staff

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • A university degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • A proven track record in a development role working with large, complex trans actional environments across multiple application technologies (Web, Mobile,Mainframe, SOA, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in managing multiple IT Data Management disciplines, i.e. database administration, data warehousing, data integration, information security, application administration, operations, systems architecture, project & program management.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in DB2 and other IBM products.
  • Experience in the implementation and migration to a Big Data? solution (e.g Hadoop, 360 degree views of structured and unstructured data) would be a definite asset.
  • Sound experience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Quality Management and Data Architecture.
  • Highly preferred experience in Loyalty Management, Omni-Channel marketing communications and Analytics services.
  • Experience managing both on-shore and offshore staff is an asset.
  • Aptitude to balance and bridge technology and business needs.
  • Able to articulate technology from an end-user perspective.
  • Can communicate and present information of different technical or business levels to a diverse audience.
  • Understanding of business drivers.

Strong analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to partner with business and IT units to deliver strategic, value-add technology solutions
  • Experience with the Agile Development methodology is an asset.
  • Fluent in French and English.
