MS Dynamics Business Analyst Loc: Washington, DC

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Live, breathe and dream about how Microsoft Dynamics AX will assist our department and if it doesnâ??t, propose what we should do to change it!
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the department when the AX system may not be working.
  • From your experience in the system and/or from feedback you receive from users, define and document system requirements.
  • Partner with external development teams throughout the product lifecycle including requirements definition, design, testing and deployment.
  • Develop and own project deliverables such as project plans, functional designs / prototypes, test plans; creating / enhancing deliverable templates as required.
  • Define and maintain project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risk and issue lists.
  • Plan work streams, prioritize development and manage JIRA boards and backlogs.
  • Work with PMO to align consistent reporting processes.
  • Develop expert-level functional and technical knowledge in Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • Build relationships with development teams, business leads and internal system users.
  • Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
  • Recommends controls by identifying problems, writing improved procedures and/or outlining required new development on the AX system.
  • Prepares and communicates weekly system report outlining AX system challenges and proposes solutions with estimated levels of effort to be presented to senior management for prioritization and approval.
  • Leads and manages Agile project implementations from project kick-off to final implementation by working closely with internal and external project stakeholders
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices and participating in professional societies.
  • Identifies and takes on initiatives as he/she sees fit and needs to get done.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • Bachelor??s Degree in a related field
  • Agile training (CSM, CSPO), PMP certification a plus
  • Supply Chain experience a plus

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Visio experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems like Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics AX is a plus
  • Project Management with experience in Agile project implementations and Business Process Development experience.
  • 5-7+ years of business analysis / project management experience.
  • 3+ years working with custom software development (versus system integration) projects; experience with SQL programming languages a plus.
  • Fundamental understanding of supply chain a plus
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Thoughtful, precise, clear and accurate written and oral communication skills.
