  • The Oracle Technology Services Manager is a key position in the Breg Information Technology team who will be responsible for production support of all Oracle application and technologies; design and architect business solutions related or attached to the Oracle platform; participate and if necessary lead projects related to the Oracle platform; manage the Oracle development team and vendors that service this environment; mentor and direct junior team members; and keep abreast of new releases of products and services in the Oracle space and provide guidance in adoption of new technologies.
  • Essential duties and responsibilities include -- Identify server hardware, software and configurations necessary for running Oracle in an optimal fashion. Develop new processes, utilize and refine existing processes for database software installation and configuration.
  • Implement database best practices. Lead efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention.
  • Review performance stats, recommend changes for tuning database, server, and storage configurations, as well as application SQL.
  • Participate in periodic backup audits. Develop new backup and recovery processes that leverage new techniques and technology.
  • Assume ownership of database related problems and pursue problem resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Develop a strategy for migrating to new releases of Oracle and installing fix packs. Coordinate interaction with vendors in critical database problem situations.
  • Participate in a 24X7 support rotation, as well as providing Subject Matter Expert support to the on call DBA as needed.
  • Cooperate with the Enterprise Architecture team on database technology decisions.
  • Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of cross-system interactions.
  • Formulate policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitor transaction activity and utilization.
  • Maintain operational readiness of the development, test, and production database systems.
  • Install, configure, administer and manage Oracle 11g.
  • Conduct performance tuning of indexes and databases.
  • Review database design and integration of systems, provide backup recovery and make recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
  • Maintain security and integrity controls. Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company policies and practices.
  • Works within the scope of QSR (Quality System Regulation) and ISO (International Standards Organization) requirements for medical products. Responsible for taking accountability to demonstrate the organization

  • This position requires a Master in Computer Science, Computer applications, or Computer Info.
  • Systems or similar and 2 plus years of experience or bachelor + 5 years of experience.
  • This position requires experience with Oracle and experience in a technology development leadership role.
