Role: Web/PHP Applications Developer Location: New York City,NY Desired Skills and Experience Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Write clean, well designed PHP code according to established standards and industry best practices. Produce detailed specifications. Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality. Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle. Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools if necessary. Support and utilize technical knowledge of mobile devices including Android and iPhones. Position Requirements: Minimum 5 years of experience working in an enterprise IT environment 4+ years of proven software development experience in PHP, JQuery, Javascript, SQL & Windows IIS. BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject. Understanding of open source projects like Joomla, Drupal, Wikis, osCommerce, etc. Good knowledge of relational databases, version control tools and of developing web services. Experience in common third-party APIs (Google, Facebook, Ebay etc). Participating in a team-oriented environment to develop complex web-based applications. Customer service oriented - constant interfacing with demanding customers. Strong follow-up skills with attention to detail. Excellent verbal skills with strong organizational abilities. Store focused: understand the needs and priorities of the stores, how job role impacts the stores, is highly responsive to store needs, and continually seeks to improve service Ability to develop relationships with field (stores, district managers, regional managers) to better understand their needs through store visits, calls, and other direct contact. Ability to adhere to IT policy and procedures and demonstrate understanding of ownership. Ability to exhibit a sense of urgency working on projects or issues, partner with others to achieve project goals or remediate issues and follow up until goals are achieved and issues are resolved. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Availability on-call outside of normal business hours for emergencies and for scheduled maintenance and support as needed.
