A global leading proprietary trading firm in Chicago is looking to add a Senior Business Intelligence Architect to the core development group so as to support the firms reporting requirements. Despite the senior level nature of the role, the team is looking for someone who can role their sleeves up and make significant contributions when working with compliance, risk, accounting, operations, clearing and trade groups on a daily basis. The successful candidate will need to identify opportunities, gather report requirements, and develop dashboards and data visualizations using ideally using MicroStrategy or a similar business intelligence tool. The successful candidate need not come from an existing finance background although the exposure to financial products would certainly be beneficial. In this collaborative role you will need to also provide a deep amount of expertise in database principles as well analytical solutions for various businesses and troubleshooting skills to boot. Key responsibilities for Lead Business Intelligence Architect MicroStrategy Work closely with various businesses, all levels of management and project teams to gather requirements and create complex reports/dashboards Completely lay out the roadmap and tune database queries as well as write stored procedures for complex business reporting Create and implement report design specifications Key skills for Lead Business Intelligence Architect MicroStrategy 3+ years of MicroStrategy experience or a similar business intelligence tool grids, filters, metrics, advanced report development Very strong analytical and problem solving skills. Troubleshooting capabilities are a must Experience working with Pentaho is desirable Dashboard Design and Data Visualization experience is a must. Data Warehousing experience is highly desirable data modelling, tuning and optimization Evidence of successfully ran technical and data architecture concepts, from creation through to inception Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proactive and positive personality can work well both individually as well as in a team A minimum of a Bachelors in Computer Science or related field discipline
