Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: Technical leader of the SAP integration architecture for Vertex indirect global tax products. Manage SAP connector development Apply the methods of Vertex Commercial development and production code delivery, leveraging the Partner Work Centers Business Analyst and Development resources to design, build, unit test, patches, and enhancements or major connector releases. Promoting acceptance of and conformance to the SAP integration architecture and standards in alignment with Vertex products. Assessing customer needs/desires and determining system/software connector requirements to satisfy those needs. Evaluating new SAP development technologies and software releases for their applicability toward the development of or incorporation into Vertex/SAP software solution. Create SAP software extension design and prototype solutions for deployment by Vertex Consulting implementation team. Develop a technical architecture to differentiate Vertex/SAP Connectors for current and future products by delivering low cost/high value solutions to meet the SAP global market needs. Integrate/align with the connector build and code release process with Vertex Commercial Standards. Manage knowledge transfer process to Vertex Consulting and Support as necessary so that service and support can be rendered effectively regarding the connector products and meet organizational targets for revenue and client satisfaction Provide billable connector related work to configuring the SAP application/tax connector. Facilitate interface problem resolution and escalation process including the ability to participate on client calls and escalations. Typically this involves communications with clients at the manager and director level. SME to Vertex product/program teams as necessary to coordinate planning efforts in alignment with SAP Partner strategy and represent that strategy through the Vertex operational model. SME for SAP strategic sales opportunities. Moderate travel required.
