Business Analyst Intern Loc: Detroit, MI

Core Responsibilities

  • Support clients on a wide variety of topics, including, but not limited to:
  • New product development and new market entry strategy development
  • Assessing market drivers and customer needs as part of product strategy development
  • Technology assessment, road mapping and adoption scenario modeling/forecasting
  • Competitive bench marking of products and technologies?? Product cost estimation, performance benchmark, life cycle cost analysis, overall business model review
  • Operations strategy Design and commercial cost reduction, sourcing strategy development and execution, manufacturing process assessment
  • Due diligence engagements for leading early stage venture funds, private equity clients to help assess investments in the energy and transportation sectors
  • Collect data from secondary sources and assist the team in identifying new and unique information sources
  • Design and execute qualitative and quantitative primary research
  • Quantify economic implications of strategy recommendations for the client
  • Translate data into meaningful insights and recommendations
  • Communicate findings to the consulting team and the client verbally and in writing
  • Support senior leadership team in business development activities, as required
  • Engage in overall RSC marketing activities by being active in authoring white papers, industry publications and presenting at market specific conferences

Position Requirements

  • BBA or Engineering degree (Master??s preferred) from a top-tier institution
  • Strong analytical skills and experience conducting in-depth data analysis
  • Relevant professional work experience in product planning, product development, purchasing/procurement in one of the following industries:

Automotive

  • Medium/heavy duty vehicles and off highway equipment
  • Large engines
  • Natural gas and oilfield equipment
  • Defense
  • Clean energy

Emerging mobility technologies

  • Self-starter with excellent organization and time management skills able to structure own work and work independently
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, with excellent written & verbal presentation and communication skills; also able to recommend solutions to senior client leadership
  • Skilled in using PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel
  • Proficiency in Access, VBA and other database skills a plus
  • Basic statistical modeling and regression analysis a plus
  • Previous experience in consulting role a plus
  • Willingness to be globally staffed on short notice
